About Arkansas Basketball
Arkansas made a splash in 2024 when it hired John Calipari away from SEC rival Kentucky. But he’s not the first Naismith Hall of Famer to coach the Razorbacks.
Not even the second.
Calipari’s arrival in Fayetteville continues a rich basketball tradition that began with Eddie Sutton in the 1970s and ’80s, and flourished under Nolan Richardson, who delivered the program’s first national championship with his “Forty Minutes of Hell” in 1994.
Arkansas ranks among the top 25 all-time in winning percentage, NCAA Tournament games played, NCAA Tournament wins and Final Four appearances. And despite playing fewer seasons than many others, the Razorbacks rank among the top 30 on the all-time wins list.
